As the days get longer and everyone is eager to get outside, this format is the perfect mix of team challenge, outdoor experience, and a shared success story.

How the Raft Building Team Event Works

During the raft building event, your team’s hands-on talents are in demand – but don’t worry: planners, creatives, coordinators, and motivators are just as important.

In small teams, you receive a limited set of materials, for example:

  • Floatation elements
  • Planks or boards
  • Ropes and fastening materials
  • Basic tools

Using only these materials, your mission is to construct a seaworthy raft. The goal isn’t just to build something that looks stable – it actually has to carry your team on the water.

From Concept to Launch

  1. Briefing & Team Setup
    After a short introduction, teams are formed and roles are assigned: Who plans, who builds, who checks stability, who keeps an eye on time and safety?

  2. Design & Construction Phase
    Together, you develop a concept for your raft and then bring it to life with the materials provided. Clear communication, alignment, and smart role distribution are key.

  3. The Moment of Truth: On-Water Test
    Once all rafts are finished, it’s time for the big moment: the launch. Each team has to complete a short distance on the water with their raft. This is where you see how well you worked together – and how stable your construction really is.

  4. Reflection & Wrap-Up
    After the challenge, there’s room for a short reflection: What worked well? Where were the challenges? And what can you take from this experience back into your day-to-day work?
